Christina Drill

is a freelance copywriter skilled in working with iterative, collaborative, complex teams. With over 8 years of experience, she tells stories and designs experiences that challenge assumptions, foster empathy, and make people act. From 2021-2023 she worked at the world-famous design studio IDEO as a Senior Verbal Designer, where she elevated her background in copywriting to enrich all steps of the design thinking process, dipping her toes into research management and synthesis, organizational design, and brand. 

Before that her freelance clients included University of Miami, New York Magazine, VICE, Curology, Grand Marnier, Dannon and more. She also has over ten years of experience teaching writing to all ages. She is currently based in New York and accepting inquiries for freelance copy projects in which she can utilize her skills in design thinking and work collaboratively with a cross-disciplinary team. Whether she is crafting compelling narratives, creating a comms strategy, or developing the voice of a brand, she believes that robust human-centered storytelling has the ability to drive change.

Story produced a mobile campaign for Back to the Roots xBolthouse Farms. IDEO 2021-2023 - Senior Narrative Communications Designer

Clients: Estée Lauder, YouTube, SONY, Blue Mercury, Hanwha, Boston Society of Architecture, Abbott Diagnostics, Cities United, Transgender Law Center, Legal Aid Society

Created human-centered narratives that engaged clients + users, made strategy tangible, and brought design to life through a variety of narrative mediums. Used the design thinking process to design and execute brand strategy, brand identity, and naming for organizations,products, non-profits, and corporations. Created, designed, and wrote pitch decks, business development decks, website + UX app copy, video scripts,workshop curriculum, one-pagers, product copy, and research insights for presentations and deliverables. Created long and short-form web and/or UX copy. Wrote researched articles about internet + popular culture.

GIRLS WRITE NOW 2014-2016- Senior Program Coordinator- Digital Media Mentoring Program 

Managed a cohort of 85 mentees + mentors. Created curriculum and facilitated digital workshops that teach both writing and digital skills to NYC public high school girls. Helped secure and/or maintain partnerships with Parsons School of Design, Think Coffee, and Poetry Project as manager of Poets Collective and Mentee Enrollment Committee. Acted as liaison between organization and Parsons New School of Design. Sent a lot of e-mails.
