My Role: Concept development and UX copy
My team was tasked with creating a more human-centered EHR (electronic health record) using AI.
After synthesizing insights from interviews with rural doctors and patients, it became clear that there was an opportunity to integrate AI tools into the EHR to better improve communication. Language barrier is a bigger issue than we’d originally understood: many migrant communities have settled in rural areas and struggle to communicate their health needs and preferences with their doctors. WELLBEANS uses AI to autogenerate information and translate it to the language and/or reading level of the patient. It also can generate a wellness report that integrates culturally-appropriate next steps and resources.
